California is the first model in the Ferrari family to adopt a cuopè-cabrio body type, with metal top, decomposable and folded.This car shows a turning point in the history of Ferrari, in fact, it has been conceived and designed to be used as a everyday car due to its versatility and ride comfort. Berlinetta brings not only stylistic but also technical choices, designed to make the car quiter and more confortable for long trips and for the everyday use.
Despite what it looks like, thanks to the F1 hand lever, the car has dynamic capabilities and performance of a true supercar. Among the confort of the car there is a spacious boot (340 litres, 240 with the roof folded) capable of carrying large luggage.
The standard configuration 2+2 offers a cabin with two rear seats, or, on customer request, the same places are replaced with a bench for the luggage.The body of the car is characterized by multiple references to the past, with classical elements mixed with the new sport style.
The exterior design is made by Pininfarina that has collaborated with Ferrari also for the motion system of the electronic hardtop.
The interior instead are made by Bertone that was able to interpreter the elegant and, at the same time, the sportive lines of the brand.
The “sculpture” that houses the control buttons of the automatic gearbox in the centre console is a true work of functional design that enriches the interior and ensures a touch of originality.
Alessandro Camorali, who worked in Stile Bertone s.p.a. like an employee has partecipated to the realization of the 3D model near the director of the style centre David Wilkie, in the Bertone’s headquarter during 2006 and 2007.
