The hot rod of the 21st century

Super**GA takes its name from the famous basilica that stands out on Turin’s Sassi hill, which in the past witnessed a historic regularity race held since the dawn of motor racing. In Piedmont dialect “Super” is also the way in which in the city and elsewhere people tend to describe something sensational, unique and surprising like the CAMAL concept. The two asterisks, on the other hand… conceal the code name given by the guys at the studio as soon as they saw the result!

Born as a research project towards new forms and new concepts Super**GA is a car without compromises. Inspired by the American hot rods of the 60s, it tries to trace the same desire for freedom from the mould, harnessing the rebellious spirit of a period that would have given new life and new forms to objects, at the time as now.

Its sinuous line projects from the front grille to the rear diffuser through a volume that is monolithic and organic at the same time. Open front wheels, fully covered rear wheels, a stylistic dichotomy that unbalances the weight of the car towards the driver’s area, making the streamlined nose look like a bullet. The squared-off grille worked in concentric patterns also acts as front lighting, aided by two light clusters positioned inside the wheel hubs and attached to them. A carbon fibre underbody acts as a front splitter, side skirt and rear diffuser, leaving only two openings in the side for hot road style exhausts. The windscreen is reduced to an aesthetic frill, leaving all the sensation of speed in the face of the driver and passenger. From above, the rhomboid shape of the volume encompasses the rear wheels and takes on an aerodynamic appearance. The rear end closes in on itself, sliding downwards and framing an elliptical headlamp with kaleidoscopic stylistic workings.

The interior of the Super**GA is simple yet refined, with contemporary details blending with the radical spirit of the concept. A “total screen” dashboard is set at the base of the windscreen in contact with the outer sheet metal. The seats are made up of cushions positioned to cushion the stiffness of the basic carbon bodywork. The semi-transparent central tunnel shows off the mechanical gearbox system, with a glimpse of the NOS supercharger cylinder, which is essential for playing the role to the full!
