EXPERIMENTAL CONCEPT CAR

TEST/1 is the stylistic interpretation of a sports car on LMH proportions, powered by a powerful jet engine, as a nostalgic tribute by the CAMAL team to the historic Fiat Turbina of the ’50s.

The design of the car seeks to explore the new trends of the moment, embracing sculptural lines and monolithic volumes, interspersed with clean lines and exposed mechanics. Through a completely transparent ‘rocket shape’ cabin, the wedge-shaped body of the car defines aerodynamic profiles, using sharp sections and large openings necessary for the powerful aero engine. The front wings are square and dominant, interrupted at the top by a vent fin. On the side a stylistic bridge between the wheels creates a large opening for air intake, while at the rear the tyre is half uncovered. An integrated wing and a technical diffuser complete the realistic appearance of the reference category. From the top view, the shape of the ‘rocket’ cabin is clearly visible, starting at the front and ending in a cylindrical shape at the rear, housing both the pilot and the jet turbine inside.

The interior is exposed and at times alien, light in its components and futuristic in its stylistic interpretation. A frame made of additive technology runs between a cockpit supporting the controls and enclosing a ‘halo’ at the top. The dynamic seat is made of separate elements to suit the pilot, ensuring comfort and stability during linear and lateral acceleration.

The jet engine virtually designed for this concept is of aeronautical derivation, based on the turbojet principle, fuelled by kerosene. According to design estimates it could reach 5000HP of power and top speeds of around 450km/h thanks to a CX of around 0.20.

The TEST/1 represents a stylistic laboratory to explore and introduce new languages and solutions for future models of ‘real’ cars by CAMAL STILE.
